Major Expansion of Swansea IT Company Into Cardiff

COMCEN, the Swansea headquartered IT company that services blue-chip, public and third sector organisations across the UK, is opening new offices in Cardiff this month (October 2020).

This development is part of the company’s strategy to grow organically and through acquisition, which saw the merger with managed service provider PISYS.net earlier in the year and the opening of its first Scottish office in August.

The new offices, situated in Maltings, Cardiff Bay, will create 10 new jobs and staff will be responsible for the full range of services offered by the company. The move is part of COMCEN’s wider strategy to offer its clients a range of expert-lead services, such as Cyber Security, Microsoft Azure & Office 365, AV & remote working solutions, Managed Print and Tech as a Service to name a few.

Branch Manager of COMCEN’S new Cardiff offices is Mark Hillman who has worked within the IT solutions industry for nearly two decades.  Commenting on his appointment, Mark says, “I am bringing to the COMCEN table nearly 20 years’ experience in this sector combined with a work ethos that will deliver unique and bespoke technology solutions to our existing and developing customer base across South Wales and beyond.

“Our goal is to develop and forge long-term business relationships from a dedicated team of truly exceptional people determined to provide an exceptional service.  Our clients will benefit from a wide range of outstanding products and services from an established supplier that has long term relationships with all top tier manufacturers. We aim to provide tailored solutions to help organisations adapt to a modern working environment.”

Other recent developments at COMCEN includes re-securing a place on the  National Procurement Service (NPS) framework for Public Sector in Wales for a further four years; opening its first office in Scotland to service its growing number of Scottish customers; and developing specialist services such as managed print and cybersecurity.

Group Managing Director Dave Matthews said “We are very excited about opening our new office in Cardiff. Mark has been an invaluable addition to the company and we are delighted he has taken on the role of taking this part of the business forward. He has recruited a fantastic team of individuals to work with him, spanning three generations which fits in with our ethos of hiring for attitude not age. Following closely on the back of opening our office in Scotland, this is part of our vision to create several UK hubs in key locations. We are aiming to attract talented individuals who can adapt to remote working but would also have the benefits of a group workspace from time to time to both enhance collaboration and to maintain that all important social interaction”
